I don't understand why if you have a TM backup you could not restore everything to how it was previously. It's literally a seconds work to switch between Mac and Windows. The speed and responsiveness is only a shade slower than native Windows. You can run Windows as a separate system or integrate the VM so that you can open and run Windows apps directly from the Mac Desktop. That way you have the best of everything.
